Meet the teachers: Masae

Hello. Konnichiwa. I am a Japanese native speaker and I love teaching Japanese. I was born in Hiroshima, Japan and have lived in the UK since 2006 and I have taught Japanese at The Marlow Language Centre since September 2019. I teach Japanese on a one-to-one basis as well as to small groups of students. I am thrilled to say that all of my students are so passionate about learning Japanese that they are a delight to teach and that’s why I love this job! I especially love teaching beginners, since learning a new language can sometimes change our lives for ever in a very exciting way! I love art, gardening, walking in the countryside, discovering nature. Come and join me and let’s enjoy language learning and Japanese culture together!
Meet the teachers: Yuri

I started my career as a teacher of English in Japan and came to England for a degree in MA in English Teaching as a Foreign Language in 2005. While studying, I researched a relationship between personalities, learning styles and multiple intelligence. I then expanded my interests in neuropsychology, early years development and neurodiversity, and obtained an Early Years teaching qualification. I started teaching Japanese in 2023 at Marlow Language Centre and now I have experience of teaching one-to-one lessons, group lessons, GCSE Japanese and JLPT. My strength is my knowledge of English as well as Japanese and love for people and teaching students of any age. I have been so fortunate to have wonderful students and supportive colleagues, and absolutely enjoy teaching at Marlow Language Centre. I endeavour to deliver classes where students can learn about Japanese people, culture and history as well as the language. So join me to learn Japanese where you can see how different we are, yet how similar we are through language learning!
